Preparation Method

Prepare the Dosa Batter

  1. Wash the dosa rice thoroughly and soak it overnight.
  2. Drain the soaked rice.
  3. Add the rice, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, dried red chilies, tamarind, turmeric powder, chopped onion, grated coconut, and salt to a mixer jar.
  4. Add water as required and grind into a smooth batter.
  5. Transfer the batter to a bowl and adjust the consistency with water to make a dosa batter that is easy to spread.

Add the Vegetables

  1. Add the grated carrot and beetroot to the prepared dosa batter.
  2. Add the finely chopped onions and coriander leaves.
  3. Mix everything well until the vegetables are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Prepare the Dosa

  1. Heat a dosa tawa over medium heat.
  2. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the hot tawa.
  3. Spread it gently into a thin, round dosa.
  4. Drizzle a little ghee around the edges and over the dosa.
  5. Cook until the bottom turns golden and the dosa is cooked through.
  6. Flip and cook the other side briefly.
  7. Remove from the tawa and serve hot.
  8. Repeat with the remaining batter.
